A Good Standard of Living

Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business
and to work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life
may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.

1 Thessalonians 4:11-12

Lose Weight by Eating

I was at home the other morning, once again due to adverse weather, and it gave me a chance to watch Rachael Ray, which I don’t often get to do.  She had a guest on named Audrey Johns.  Audrey lost 150 pounds in one year without following a traditional diet.

She stopped eating all processed foods, artificial sweeteners and diet soda.  She began cooking her own meals instead of eating frozen diet dinners and the like,  and increased her intake of water.

She wrote this book and I bought it!

The food looks wonderful and doable!  I don’t see being deprived with  the wonderful “comfort food” recipes in the book.  NOTE: I am not being paid to write this and I don’t get anything should you buy the book, but I wanted to share this with any of you who might be struggling with weight.  I’ve struggled with it my whole life.  This is probably the most realistic plan I’ve ever seen.

I found out the last time that I went to get my DOT physical that I am a borderline diabetic.  That scared me.  If I can’t pass a DOT physical, I lose my job  and my livelihood.  I have been frantically looking for a way to control this with diet and I’m happy to say, that after only two days of using this method, I got my blood sugar down from 312 to 165 when I tested this afternoon.  Still a tad high, but it’s a pass on a DOT physical.  I hope to get it down even more.  I think I’m kinda in the detox phase and I’m pretty sure I’ve got some sugar withdrawal to go through.

I’m feeling really positive about this and best of all, I don’t think I’m going to feel deprived or miserable.  That’s been my downfall with every other diet I’ve tried.  I did fairly well on South Beach as far as losing wieght, but I felt deprived when I had to give up bread for the most part.  Bread is something I love and I don’t have to give it up with this.  I just have to eat the right kind! Losing weight is one thing, but keeping it off is another.  I’ve been up and down the scale so many times and nothing has stood the test of time.  I pray this does!

I will keep you informed on how it’s going!
