A Good Standard of Living

Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business
and to work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life
may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.

1 Thessalonians 4:11-12

Begins The New Year & New Projects

The holidays are behind us and I spent a couple of weeks coming up for air, but now it’s time to get busy with this house again.  I am so close to being done with round one that I can taste it.  I say round one, because this is the round where I just get the basics done.  Walls painted, curtains hung…rooms organized…ALL the boxes unpacked and a little purging.  Round two will involve bigger projects like redoing floors, windows and finishing the semi-finished basement.

The project right now is my office/craft room.  I’ve been itching to get to this room for a long time!

I’ve started with the windows and getting them cleaned up.  There are two of these that meet in the corner, one facing east and the other south.  It’s a really cute arrangement and there’s a lot of natural light in here.  This room gets more light that any in the house.  Townhouses tend not to have a lot of light except at certain times of the day, so this room was the obvious choice for my craft room.

I am almost embarrassed to show you the current condition of this room, but if I don’t, you won’t be able to appreciate how far this room has come when it’s all done.  I can’t even believe someone would let their windows get this dirty, but here is what they looked like before..

Is that disgusting, or what?  Took me about 2 hours to clean these up.  Below is the after.  Ahhhhh….I love clean windows!

Here’s the room I have to work with.  It’s a complete mess to any eye that might see it but mine.  I actually do know where everything is.  ::smile::

Now, close your eyes and try to imagine where I’m going with these curtains and wall color.  The trim will be white.  I’ll be posting more pics as I go through the process.

Lord, I love you so much.  As I begin a new week, help me to be kinder and more understanding to those around me as I make my way through this fallen world.  Put your loving hand over my mouth if I begin so speak negatively and remind me of who I am in You.  In Jesus name I pray….Amen
