I’m currently living in a cardboard jungle awaiting the move. We are set to close (God willing) on the 28th. As I fill each box, I pray that I won’t have to unpack it and put it’s contents back where it came from. It’s not over until they hand you the keys. I’ve read stories online about people who were all set to move and at the last minute, something came up that put the kibosh on the whole thing. I don’t see that happening, but you never know.
I hate living like this, but it’s like giving birth. Very painful for a bit, but in the end….it’s all worth it!
I had my inspection done and it all came out good except for the furnace. I will have to replace it, but won’t be able to until I move and get the check for my current place. So, that means we’ll be using space heaters for a minute.
The first week in the house is going to be challenging. There are some leaks we have to fix before we can turn on the water. I’ll leave Jim to that while the kids and I move the stuff over. I am also hiring a painter to do the vaulted area of the living room. I will do the bedrooms, bathrooms, family room, kitchen and dining area myself. I don’t want to spend too much on that.
In the meantime, I’m occupying my mind thinking about all the great possibilities that await. This house is so much better than my current house and I ‘m getting more than I had hoped for when I first went looking. I was only looking for a 2 bedroom and ended up with FOUR. A family room and finished basement weren’t even on my list. Not only did I get a family room, but I got TWO family rooms. I was hoping for a laundry niche and ended up with a very large laundry room. I am just so excited.
I will definitely be blogging about this all along the way. Before and after photos and I hope you’ll follow along with me!
I’ve put my Etsy shop on vacation mode until early November.
