A Good Standard of Living

Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business
and to work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life
may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.

A Step Back

Gosh, I am so sorry I’ve not posted in a bit.  Nothing major since the Giveaway announcement.  Before I get started, let me tell you how much I adore this Windows Live Writer program. It really is WYSIWYG and has a couple other nifty features, like these..

And, the ability to add some cute effects to the photos you post.  Really fun!

On the personal side.  Do you ever find your head swimming with so any ideas and projects you want to do that you can’t seem to focus on doing any of them?  That it’s overwhelming?  It’s a feeling that’s hard to describe, but those of you who love to create know what I’m talking about.  I’ve been feeling like that a lot lately.  I feel anxious and almost manic about it at times.

So, I decided to step back and do something that I’ve enjoyed online for 11 years and has been the basis for most of the business I’ve done.  I’m take a few steps back and doing graphics again.  Of all the things that I love to do..sewing, decorating..painting...digital graphics hold the most special place in my heart and it’s the place that I feel I excel the most.

Does that mean that I’m not going to continue here as I have with my Etsy shop, etc.?  Absolutely not, because I’m having way too much fun with that.

It does, however, mean that I am doing something new with my site, Pollyanna Graphics.  If you’ve ever been there, you know that I have bunches of mouse drawn pixel graphics that I’ve done over the years and that has been very successful, but so much has changed lately and people are blogging more than they are setting up regular websites.  So, I have decided to open up another section on the site to offer blog graphics for FREE and earn revenue through Google Adsense rather than charging for the graphics.  That way, I’m not working for free and you get to have all the fun!

It’s not open yet, but I do have the front page of it ready if you’d like to have a peek.  Just click the image below.

Digital graphics are cathartic for me.  I’ve always loved to draw and still draw on paper when the mood strikes.  I need to do this to get myself, creatively centered again.  I feel like I’ve been following every changing wind lately and this will anchor me for a while.

Hope you all had a lovely weekend, and don’t forget to tell your friends about the giveaway and enter if you haven’t already.

fingerscrossed
